The boss spoke about coming up against Antonio Conte’s men, building on Saturday’s triumph away to Brighton, current form, and the Clarets supporters.

Dyche on Tottenham:

“They are a really strong outfit, I know they’ve had a bit of a tough run, but we’ve done it before against the top sides and now we will have to do it again.

“They showed that with their mentality in their win at Manchester City, so we have to fight for everything that we get, and we are showing the right mentality and that’s what we need to keep doing.

“The players are in a good place, you can see that in the performance levels and it’s good that the game has come around quick, we have a team mentality that has served us well and now we have to build on performance and strive for more.

Team news ahead of Saturday's game

Dyche on building on Brighton win

“Performances have been strong, and it’s keeping that mentality and the fearlessness that comes with these performances as you are going to need that playing against these types of opposition.

“We certainly showed it against Manchester United in the second-half, against Liverpool and down at Brighton, who are all very good opposition and going well this season.

“These are very good players who we have come up against, and now we have to build on the win.

“We’ve never lacked belief and I’ve looked at the players, and we can win in every stadium against every club, it’s not that easy but you can still find a way of playing in the Premier League.

“It’s important because it reinforces that message of staying true to ourselves inside the camp and outside the camp. From my and some of the players’ experience of the Premier League, that gives me clarity and a foundation to reinforce the positive areas of our game.”

Dyche on recent performances

“It was a good performance and I feel it was well deserved from our good run of performance levels, we got our reward but it’s just one win and we need plenty more of them and they deserve to enjoy it, but it gets parked quickly in mine and the players thoughts, and we are ready to go again.

“You have to stay steadfast in what you believe in and remind the players of what we believe in. Also, we’ve got a lot of years of service in the Premier League, which strongly suggests when we do what we do well, we can be very competitive as we’ve seen in the past five games.

“We’re not far away, particularly in the first eight or nine games of the season, in the middle section, the Leeds game threw us a bit, but the way the lads have come out of that period and performed is very pleasing.

“Going away to Arsenal when they were in really good form, playing Manchester United and Liverpool, which we took into the Brighton game with another strong performance, and I’m pleased for the players as they work hard to put in a very good performance and get a good win.”

Dyche on the supporters

“The fans have been terrific. They have been outstanding, they’ve backed the team and they deserve a lot of credit for staying behind the team, they have been amazing and it’s down to us to give any reward to them, and our fans are seeing us give everything for the shirt.”
