Burnley Football Club can confirm the signing of young winger Blayz Borgesson from Radcliffe FC, following a successful trial period.
The 17-year-old has signed a deal until the end of the 2026/27 season and joins Tony Philliskirk’s U18s squad.
“It’s a big challenge for me and I can’t wait to get started,” he said.
“I like to try and attack my full-back and be very direct, with the aim of getting goals and assists. I try and impact the team on the defensive side too.
“On trial I felt like I settled in pretty quickly. The standard and intensity were a lot higher but once I played more games I got used to it.
“I’m looking forward to testing myself against some of the best players in the country.”

Born and raised in Bermuda, Borgesson describes his love of the game as starting at the age of three or four years old.
After moving to England a decade later, the teenager has been playing in Radcliffe’s college programme alongside his studies.
While with the Manchester-based side, Borgesson helped the U18s reach the first round proper of the FA Youth Cup and represented his country at U20 level while 16 years old.
Having been recommended by Clarets Academy coach Frank Sinclair, he trialled with Philliskirk’s side last season and made seven U18 Premier League appearances.
Now that he’s on the books full-time, he’ll be aiming to continue his development at Burnley Training Centre.
