Jordan Beyer can't wait to be back at Turf Moor on Friday night for Burnley's clash with West Bromwich Albion.
The defender got the winning goal in last weekend's win against Coventry City, the first goal of his professional career, but is aware of the challenge it will be against the side who have won four of their last five.
“It felt fantastic to be honest [to score]. I’d been waiting for the goal for a long time and I’m even happier to score it here, at Turf Moor. In that situation I was really happy about it, but I was even happier that we could get away with the win, in what was a tough game for us.”
The goal saw the defender's first Turf Moor goal scoring celebration, a celebration of which his teammates had some words about!
“I got a few words from my teammates after the game because I was just jumping and running around! Running in circles without knowing what I’m doing, but probably next time I know what I’m doing now. For next time, if there is a next time, I know what to do!”

The Clarets will continue their Championship campaign tomorrow against an in form West Bromwich Albion.
“For me, I love these kind of games, they are the games you play for, these are the big games of the season. You can’t be sure what direction it will go in the end so you have to be on point for the game, their a strong side. They struggled a bit in the beginning but in the first game we also saw how good they are, they gave us a lot of problems, but I think we don’t have to be scared of them. We’ve had a great season up until now I think and if we keep doing what we did the last few weeks, maybe not against Coventry sometimes, but the second half of Coventry, we can take the good parts of that, then I think we are set to go against them and hopefully get the three points.”
Beyer joined the Clarets in early September and before linking up with the squad, watched them in action at The Hawthorns in the reverse fixture 1-1 draw.
“That was the first day I’d been over, and I went to Birmingham to see that game against West Brom. That was the first game I was with the team, so I remember that game."

In last weekend's win against Coventry, the defender played on the right alongside Charlie Taylor.
“Chaz is a great player. It’s obviously unfortunate for Taylor that he picked up the injury in the cup game, because he’s been like one of the leaders, one of the big players this season but Chaz also has huge experience. He played so many games for Burnley and he’s also a great centre back so it’s not a problem. It’s a bit different to play on the right, than on the left, but at the end I don’t really care, as long as I play, I take anything!
“We always switch around in training so that everybody works with everybody, so that in every case whoever is playing, they can get along with each other. However, I think in our group, no matter who’s on the field, it doesn’t matter everybody knows what to do, and everybody links up with everybody. We can all get on with it then.”

Beyer has featured heavily so far this season, making 15 starts and keeping 8 clean sheets.
“Of course, you always want more of the clean sheets it’s almost like scoring a goal as a defender to get a clean sheet and with the quality in our team, especially what we have in the offense, you know that if we keep a clean sheet at the back, we’re probably going to win that game because we’re always able to score one or two goals. That’s the main task for us, to keep the ball away from our goal but it’s not only us defenders, it’s the whole team, the strikers, the goalie, we all work together and try to keep that clean sheet and we’ll keep on doing that.”
Finally, the defender spoke positively about adjusting to life in the Northwest, despite not having too much time to do much sightseeing!
“I’m settling in pretty well. I can speak the language pretty good before, so I wasn’t struggling with that, that was good. We’ve had a lot of games, a lot of work these past weeks and months so there wasn’t that much time to go somewhere and explore the city or explore some other places in England. I’m looking forward to doing that soon sometime maybe, but I’m just enjoying the time here, with my new teammates, with the people here and yeah, I really like it.”
