Burnley Football Club are delighted to confirm the arrival of attacking midfielder Manuel Benson on a four-year deal from Antwerp for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old has spent the last seven seasons in the Belgium first division with Antwerp and Genk, with loan spells to Mouscron and Eredivisie side PEC Zwolle in between.
Benson began his career with Belgian side Lierse, spending four years there, before a switch to Genk in the summer of 2017. After three seasons with Genk in the top-flight, winning the Belgian Super Cup in the process, Benson then made the move to Antwerp in 2019.
Internationally, the Lokeren-born attacker has represented Belgium from U19-U21 level and has 14 UEFA Europe League appearances with two goals.
After signing at Turf Moor, Benson said: "I'm very excited, it's a new adventure for me and i have heard a lot of good things about this club.
"I can't wait to start now and I'm looking forward to meeting my new teammates."
Manager Vincent Kompany said: “We’re delighted to welcome Manuel Benson to the squad. He’s a hard working player, that will help improve our team, as well as improve his own game in English football.
“He’s a one v one specialist, who is a threat in the final third. I have no doubt that he will be giving his all for the club and for his teammates."
