It’s beginning to look like a FIFA cheat code.
Four games in a row Manuel Benson has scored a copy cat classic.
Swinging a shot from the edge of the penalty area into the opposite top corner of the goal - leaving the keeper helpless - including THAT goal at Ewood Park to secure the Championship title.
Manuel Benson though remains typically modest : “I’m just trying. You just have to try and if it doesn’t work you go again.
“Maybe take the outside so you keep the defenders guessing. Yeah, maybe a bit lucky also when it goes in so I just need to keep doing it!”
Jay Rodriguez, however, thinks luck has nothing to do with it : “No it’s not. You see it in training since he’s come to the club. It’s his special move! He can go either way and that’s the quality of Benny.
“I think he works out how the defender wants to defend and he’ll take what they give them. You see his qualities. It’s no fluke is it? What is it? Four times now? I’d like to see one more on Monday!”
