Seven players from the Clarets academy are currently out on loan across the Football League & non-league pyramid, with a further three seeing their current loan deals expire yesterday.
In a seven-day spell which saw Owen Dodgson & Lukas Jensen both aid bids to escape relegation, defender Bobby Thomas also kept a clean sheet on his return to Bristol Rovers.
Here’s a round-up of how all 10 fared over the last week.
Bobby Thomas (Barnsley)
Thomas, who has been at Burnley since 2017, was on loan with Bristol Rovers for the first half of this season.

In January, he made the move to Barnsley until the end of the season and on Saturday kept a clean sheet in a goalless draw between the pair at the Memorial Stadium.
This week’s game(s): TUE - Portsmouth (H) & SAT – Plymouth Argyle (H)
Dane McCullough (Hyde United)
Full-back McCullough’s loan at Northern Premier League Premier Division outfit Hyde also runs until the end of the campaign.
The Northern Ireland youth international, who has been a Claret since August 2020, played the full game for the Tigers at Nantwich Town on Saturday afternoon as they ran out 1-0 winners.
This week’s game(s): SAT – Radcliffe (A)
Finn Armstrong (Curzon Ashton)
Fellow full-back Armstrong has been in the academy since he was 12, and is out on loan with Curzon in the Vanarama National League North until the end of the season.
He wasn’t involved in their 1-0 defeat at Kettering Town on Tuesday, though returned to play the full game on Saturday as the ‘Nash’ lost 4-1 at Leamington.
This week’s game(s): TUE – Darlington (A) & SAT – Brackley Town (H)
Harry Moss (Padiham)
Moss is one of the three whose loan deals expired yesterday (5th March). As is the case with all three, talks remain ongoing as to whether the deals will be extended and any potential extensions will be confirmed by the Club if required.
Over the last week, the towering goalkeeper – who has been at Burnley since the summer of 2020 – played in both of Padiham’s games. Tuesday saw the Storks win 4-2 at Longridge Town, while Saturday saw Moss keep a clean sheet in a goalless draw at Irlam.
As it stands, Padiham don’t have any games this week.
Joe McGlynn (Kidderminster Harriers)
Scotland youth international McGlynn’s loan at Kidderminster in the Vanarama National League North runs until the end of the season.
Like Armstrong, he’s been a Claret since he was 12. The striker is currently recovering from an injury, and wasn’t involved in the Harriers’ 2-1 County Cup defeat at Stourport on Tuesday or their goalless draw at home against Boston United on Saturday.
This week’s game(s): TUE – Chester (A) & SAT – King’s Lynn Town (H)
Jon Ander Vilar Robinson (Padiham)
Also on loan at Padiham alongside fellow ‘keeper Moss has been 17-year-old Vilar Robinson.
The first-year scholar’s loan also expired yesterday. He wasn’t involved in either of the Storks’ two games last week, instead appearing on the bench for the U18s on Saturday in their 1-1 draw at Barnsley.
Lukas Jensen (Accrington Stanley)
Jensen has been at Burnley since 2019, and has reclaimed a starting shirt at loan Club Accrington in recent weeks, where his loan runs the length of the campaign.
The big Danishman helped Stanley to a vital 2-1 win at home against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday in a Sky Bet League One basement battle. The Reds moved out of the relegation zone as a result of the victory.
This week’s game(s): TUE – Ipswich Town (A) & SAT – Charlton Athletic (A)
Michael Mellon (Morecambe)
When Stanley moved out of the relegation zone, they leapfrogged Mellon’s Morecambe to send them back into it.
Earlier in the day, the Shrimps had drawn 0-0 at home against Bolton Wanderers. Struggling with a knock, Scotland youth international Mellon wasn’t involved in that game at the Mazuma Stadium. He has been a Claret since he was 15.
This week’s game(s): TUE – Cambridge United (A) & SAT – Shrewsbury Town (A)
Owen Dodgson (Rochdale)
Defender Dodgson has been an ever-present for Dale since joining in January, and is with the Sky Bet League Two outfit until the end of the campaign.
The full-back, who has been with Burnley since the summer of 2020, enjoyed a first win in blue & black on Saturday, keeping a clean sheet in a 2-0 win at home against Stevenage to boost Dale’s survival hopes. They are now four points off safety.
This week’s game(s): SAT – Grimsby Town (A)
Sam Waller (Lancaster City)
Like Armstrong & McGlynn, shot stopper Waller has been a Claret since he was 12. He completes the trio, all ‘keepers, whose loans expired yesterday.
Waller has been an ever-present for Lancaster since joining in October, and over the last week enjoyed two wins.
First keeping a clean sheet on Tuesday night in a 2-0 victory at home against Marske United, he then again played as the Dolly Blues beat Morpeth Town 2-1 at the Giant Axe on Saturday. Waller now has 6 clean sheets in 26 City appearances.
