Vinny's notes ahead of today's game

Hello again.

Welcome home for our last game before the international break and another good opportunity to keep moving forward.

There were plenty of positives to bring back from the match at West Ham last weekend and hopefully we can build on that.

The team fought hard and showed plenty of heart and courage.

Our resolve and belief have never wavered and now another week brings another challenge and a new hope.

We never stop working. That’s the strength of the club and the people of this part of the world. We know, sometimes it’s not easy but we get on with it.

We concentrate only on what is important and focus on the team and the guys who are prepared to give everything.

JJ Watt has been a welcome visitor to the training ground again this week.

He spent some time with the players and staff at Gawthorpe - sharing his experiences as a leader in his field as a player and as a person.

His record as an elite player in the NFL speaks for itself. Regularly recognised by his peers as the best at what he does.

His work in the community, especially here in Burnley, is also highly admirable.

Now part of the Burnley family, JJ has embraced this football club and everything it means. I know from having conversations with him on a regular basis how much he, and his family, care for this football club.

Finally, we welcome Thomas Frank, his staff and all his players to Turf Moor today.

Enjoy the match!

Vinny
