Burnley U18s recorded an emphatic 5-0 victory over Hull City in the Professional Development League on Saturday afternoon.
A first-half treble was followed by two further strikes after the break at the Burnley Training Centre, as the Clarets climbed above their opponents and into fourth in the table.
It was a much-changed side from last week’s defeat at Barnsley, with captain Jack Rogers and Trialist A coming into the defence.
Callum West was introduced to the midfield and Zach Johnson, Trialist B and Rohan Vaughan added attacking firepower.

The Clarets took a 15th-minute lead through West, who controlled the ball on his chest between the two opposing centre-backs, turned and found the bottom right corner.
It was 2-0 just before the hour as Lucas Wane’s trickery and determination won a penalty, from which Vaughan sent Hull ‘keeper George Wilson the wrong way.
A well-worked team goal then made it three before the break.
Right-back Ollie Sweeney clipped a ball up the flank to Logan Carlin, who controlled it well and produced a fine cross for Trialist B to glance a header into the top left corner.
Tony Philliskirk introduced Brandon Ly at the interval and the team continued their dominance into the second half, adding a fourth goal eight minutes in.
Left-back Oli Pimlott’s lengthy run eventually saw him cross for Johnson, who converted from close range.

It was 5-0 shortly after the hour when Logan Carlin climbed above his defender at the back post to head in from a corner.
Having bought on Benji Wetshi, Philliskirk then rotated his pack further with a triple change that saw Noah Adekoya, Marley Leuluai and Dylan Sime earn more minutes.
The visitors went in search of a consolation goal and came closest when Stan Hewitt clipped the top of the bar from range.
However, Burnley maintained their concentration until the final whistle to keep a clean sheet on route to an eighth league victory of the campaign.
The U18s are next in action on Saturday 23rd March when they travel south to take on Watford at their training ground.
