Good evening, welcome back to Turf Moor for tonight’s game against Sheffield Wednesday.
Last Saturday’s trip to Preston North End saw us notch up an 11th straight clean sheet in the league and extend our undefeated run to 22 consecutive matches.
It was a game decided on fine margins, as in addition to our resolute defending we had lots of opportunities in front of goal. It’s important that we take those positives into tonight’s game.
It was an emotional game in moments and I’m proud of the players. I also want to make special mention of the incredible support we received. The travelling fans were fantastic and we’re going to need that support when we make the trip again in just over a week’s time in the FA Cup fifth round.
At this evening’s game we will be showcasing our commitment to the Level Playing Field 'Unite for Access' campaign. This annual event celebrates and promotes good access and inclusion at sports venues.
Ensuring that Turf Moor is accessible and enjoyable for all who attend is incredibly important to us.
Last year we were pleased to launch our sensory room at Turf Moor, a specially designed space to cater to those with special educational needs or sensory processing issues, allowing them to watch the match in comfort away from the noise of the crowds.
We received really great feedback from those who have used the room, and I’m delighted that it’s making such a positive impact.
In other news our women’s team have a big few weeks coming up with four games in March.
The team will face Rugby Borough and Nottingham Forest at home at Leyland and will travel to West Bromwich Albion and Wolves Women later in March.
It’s a tough run of games, and all support is very much welcomed by Bex and the players. So, we encourage you to please get down to support the team if you can.
Now we have a big Friday night under the lights ahead of us this evening.
We know every game in this league is a test, let’s show Scott and the players our support and aim to kick off the weekend with three points.
As always thank you for your continued support, Clarets. Enjoy the game.
UTC!
