Jordan Beyer says that he and his teammates are prepared for a tough test in the Midlands tomorrow afternoon, but it’s one that they are ready for.
The German U21 international spoke to the Club’s media earlier on today, speaking about bouncing back from the late leveller in midweek, being more resolute, and what he’s expecting from the Sky Blues.
Beyer on Wednesday’s draw with Stoke:
“I thought we did a good job up until about the 85th minute. We had really solid control of the game and did a lot right. There’s still a lot to improve upon but we’re at the start with a new team.
“At the end of the day, it’s a draw which is really disappointing for all of us because they didn’t really have a clear-cut chance throughout the whole game.”
Beyer on improvements:
“We conceded a header [against Stoke] and like the manager said, we have to see out those types of games by either not conceding, scoring a second goal, or ideally both. We know that’s what we need to work on.
“We have to continue doing what we were doing performance wise, play with the same confidence, get a few more chances and score more goals.

“At the back, we need to concentrate on being aggressive, getting tight to our man, and we have to do everything not to concede a goal. It’s just about fighting to defend our goal with our lives.”
Beyer on taking it game by game:
“There are so many games left and a lot can happen. Of course, the Stoke game was disappointing, but once we’d all slept for one night after it, it had gone already [from our minds].
“The full focus since has been and is on Coventry. We just have to keep working on the little deficits we have, getting better and better. We’re already on the right path, it’s just about keeping at it.”
Beyer on Coventry:
“No game is easy in the Championship, and I think if you look at the league table it’s a bit deceptive about them. They’ve played two games less than the team above them, and three less than the one after that, less than anyone else in the league overall.
“We know tomorrow is still going to be tough regardless of where they are [in the table], but we have quality in our squad and we have to show it against them.”
