Clarets back on road with Midlands trip to take on Sky Blues

Burnley return to action for the second time this week on Saturday afternoon (October 8), heading on the road to take on Coventry City down in the Midlands – 15:00 KO.

Midweek saw the Clarets draw 1-1 with Stoke City on a wet evening at Turf Moor, taking a point in the process.

Returning home for the first time in close to three weeks, Connor Roberts’ first goal of the campaign midway through the second half put Burnley ahead, but the visitors struck late on through Harry Clarke to level things up.

Vincent Kompany’s side sit 5th in the Sky Bet Championship table ahead of Saturday’s trip to the Coventry Building Society Arena, and have 19 points from their opening 12.

Where to Watch?

Due to the EFL’s guidelines, we are not permitted to stream Saturday’s game live to the United Kingdom, Ireland or any of the Channel Islands. You can however stream the game in all other territories except Russia.

Coventry City

At the beginning of their third consecutive campaign in the second-tier, Coventry had issues with their pitch at the CBS Arena and so saw multiple games called off.

When Mark Robins’ side did play their games, they lost four of their first five in league action and were knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the First Round stage.

Having now played nine league games, the Sky Blues have one win and four draws – seven points – but still prop up the table in 24th. They do however still have games in hand on those above them.

The Last Time We Met

It’s been over a decade since the two Clubs last met and that came in April 2012 at Turf Moor, also in second-tier action, with Coventry relegated a few weeks later.

The pair drew 1-1 with Charlie Austin opening the scoring for the Clarets 20 minutes in before Clive Platt grabbed an equaliser for the visitors in the second half.
