Burnley Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of Millie Chandarana, who joins our women’s team ahead of the 2025/26 season.
A consistent presence in midfield, Chandarana was part of Nottingham Forest’s 2024/25 Northern Premier Division of the Women’s National League title winning squad.
When asked why she decided to join the Clarets, she said: “I think the setup is exciting.
“Everything is already competitive and challenging, which is going to make us better as a team and make me better as a player too.
“We have a goal and a vision that we are working toward, and hopefully we can accomplish that this year.”
Chandarana’s playing career started in the Manchester United Academy and after a switch to Blackburn Rovers, she played for Loughborough Foxes while studying for a degree in Sport and Exercise Science at their university.
A first professional contract saw her move to Italy to play for Tavagnacco and later San Marino FC, and the now 28-year-old scored her first senior goal against Juventus.
Back in England, Chandarana spent three seasons in the Women’s Championship with Blackburn Rovers before joining Forest ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
Because of that we came up against her twice last season and the midfielder, who combines technical skill with leadership qualities, is now looking forward to pulling on the Claret and Blue shirt instead.
