Burnley Women can book their place in the quarter finals of the FA Women’s National League Cup when they play fellow third-tier outfit Hull City on Sunday afternoon.
This is a round two tie, with the Clarets already having beaten AFC Fylde and Sutton Coldfield Town to get to this stage.
The Clarets have won their last four matches in all competitions and are unbeaten in five.
By the time the Hull trip comes around it will have been two weeks since Rebecca Sawiuk’s side’s last outing, with last Sunday’s league match at Halifax being postponed on the day.
The Tigresses travelled to Lancashire on the opening day of the season and suffered a comprehensive defeat, with seven different Clarets players scoring in a 9-0 triumph.
Naomi Hartley, Claudia Walker, Charley Docherty, Brenna McPartlan, Amelia Hazard and Laura Elford all netted that day, alongside a Grace Palmer brace on her Burnley debut.
Hull have had a mixed start to their season and sit 8th in the 12-team table with nine points from the same number of matches.
Chris Hames’ side have found their scoring boots in the League Cup, though, starting with a 6-0 determining round win over Lincoln City in which Shakala Brookes bagged a hat-trick.
They then beat Huddersfield Town 3-1 in the first round, with Brookes on target again alongside Madison Green and Hope Knight.
The Yorkshire club were beaten 4-0 by Sporting Khalsa last weekend and will be keen to bounce back this time around.
Barton Town’s Easy Buy Stadium (DN18 5RL) is the venue for Sunday’s cup tie, with kick-off at 2pm.
Tickets can be purchased online and are priced at £6 for adults, £5 for concessions and £1 for under-16s. Please note that tickets will increase by £1 after 3pm on Friday 18th October. If you can’t be there in person, live updates will be shared on our dedicated women’s social media channels and a match report will follow the final whistle on www.burnleyfootballclub.com.
