Burnley Women are back at Turf Moor this weekend, with Wolverhampton Wanderers the opposition for a 2pm kick-off on Sunday 15th March.

The Clarets sit top of the table with five matches to play, and 11 straight league victories have taken our points tally to 47 from a possible 51.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be eyeing a win that would take them to the top of the pile.

Dan McNamara’s side are in a similarly positive run of form and head into it on the back of a 6-0 victory over Derby County last time out.

How to watch

The match will take place at Turf Moor (BB10 4BX) and tickets can be purchased online HERE, over the phone on 01282 704718 or in person at the ticket office.

Men’s team season ticket holders can enter for free but will need to claim their complimentary match ticket via one of the methods listed above.

Non-season ticket holders can purchase tickets via the same means at £5 for adults and £1 for under 14s.

The opposition

Like ourselves, Wolverhampton Wanderers have enjoyed an unbeaten league season to date.

The Old Gold have taken 46 points from their 16 fixtures, only dropping points against us in a goalless draw back in August.

Their last four outings have ended without them conceding a goal too, while their last defeat came in January’s FAWNL Cup quarter final with West Bromwich Albion.

Manager Dan McNamara joined the club in January 2018 and at the time, he balanced that with his primary job as an aircraft technician in the Royal Air Force.

He then became their first full-time manager ahead of the 2024/25 season and they finished 2nd last term, three points behind winners Nottingham Forest.

Players to look out for include captain Anna Morphet, a defender who joined from Aston Villa in 2018, and top scorer Amber Hughes, who has 18 goals to her name in all competitions.

There are some familiar names in the Old Gold squad too, with Georgia Marshall and Louanne Worsey both wearing Burnley claret last season.

"I'm excited for the game.

"Since I've been in, the girls have been doing good things, and this is another chance to improve and get better.

"We had to show a different side of ourselves against Rugby because of the condition of the pitch, but our out of possession stuff was really good, really aggressive, and on the front foot.

"It will be a tougher game this weekend between the two best teams in the league for obvious reasons - winning football matches and good form.

"I say it all the time, though - we just concentrate on ourselves and think 'can we improve the stuff we've been doing in recent weeks?'

"We're obviously going to have to do that a little bit better though, because the opposition will be a bit stronger."

Matchday information

Supporters are encouraged to arrive at the stadium as early as possible, with bag checks in operation. Turnstiles open at 1pm and all spectator seating is located in the Bob Lord Stand.

The Rapidz Fan Zone is open from 12pm until kick-off, and entry is free for all match ticket holders.

Activities include inflatables, a petting zoo, and face painting. Vendors will also be selling candy floss and ice cream, with further refreshments available from the kiosk inside.

The Clarets Store opens at 10.30am and closes at 4.30pm, giving you the perfect opportunity to shop our kit and training wear sales.

From there you can also purchase a copy of 'Turf', our official matchday programme, for just £2.50. In there is insight from the women's team staff and playing squad, as well as more information on the Wolves team.

Men's team season ticket holders are reminded that they cannot use this to gain entry to the stadium. A complimentary match ticket must be claimed ONLINE, over the phone on 01282 704718 or in person at the ticket office.

There is no spectator parking available at Turf Moor, and supporters are asked to be mindful of local residents when parking.
