Entry is free to all as Burnley FC Women are back on home soil in the Northern Premier Division of the FA Women’s National League this Sunday afternoon (October 9) when Nottingham Forest Women are the visitors in a 14:00 KO.
Jonathan Morgan’s side haven’t played at the LFA’s County Ground in Leyland since September 11 when they drew 3-3 with Huddersfield Town Women, but have since enjoyed success aplenty on the road.
First earning a dramatic 3-2 win at Boldmere St Michaels Women, Burnley then progressed in the FA Women’s National League Cup with a 3-1 success away at Hull City Ladies.
And most recently, the Claret Women beat Wolverhampton Wanderers Women 3-1 down in the Midlands, leapfrogging their opponents in the process to go top of the league table.
Evie Priestley netted a second half brace against the Wanderers which ultimately sealed the contest - and the three points - after Ella Kinzett’s first goal for the Club midway through the first half had handed Burnley a 1-0 lead at the break.
Accordingly, Morgan’s side remain unbeaten seven games (all competitions) into their season.

The Claret Women’s focus now shifts to tomorrow’s game, just their third home match of the campaign thus far, against a Forest side who haven’t been in action since September 25 when they beat Leek Town Ladies 5-0 in the FAWNL Cup.
Stop-start has been the nature of the Reds’ season so far, with Sunday bringing about their first league game since September 18 when they lost 4-2 at home to Wolves.
Despite that defeat, their first of the campaign in the fourth league match they’ve played to date, Forest had been sat 3rd in the table prior to last weekend’s games. Results elsewhere saw Andy Cook’s side slip to 5th, but with games in hand, the Midlands outfit bolstered their ranks only yesterday with the addition of Rosetta Taylor.
New-Zealand born, the 21-year-old midfielder spent seven years in Spain previously and played for Valencia CF Femenino amongst others. She will now be available for the trip to Leyland as Forest look to rise back up the table from 5th, which is the same position as they finished in last term.

Burnley ended the 2021/22 season two points - and a place - better off, despite losing 4-1 at home and drawing 1-1 away against this Sunday’s opponents.
Dom Cooper got the Claret Women’s consolation goal last August, while in December it was Courtney Willis’ strike which earned a point on our travels down in the Midlands.
Both of those two could be in action against the Reds again this time around, and we hope to see some of you at the County Ground, but if you can’t make it, we have you covered with full updates from the contest via Twitter.
