There’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup second round action in Lancashire this weekend, with Burnley Women hosting fourth-tier outfit Norwich City.

The Clarets scored double figures against Blackburn Rovers in the first round to get to this point and will be keen to continue their progress with another win here.

Lou Roberts’ side are in a rich vein of form, going unbeaten in all 16 matches in all competitions this season and winning their last seven.

Turf Moor was the venue for their latest triumph against Derby County last weekend, with Millie Ravening’s penalty and an own goal proving to be the difference between the teams on the day.

As mentioned, there was a healthy victory over Blackburn Rovers in this competition last month.

Burnley were 4-0 up at half-time that day thanks to goals from Tilly Wilkes, Aimee Kelly, Charlie Chadwick and Ravening, and the Clarets put their foot on the accelerator after the break.

The eight further goals included a hat-trick from Claudia Walker and a brace from Heidi to cap a perfect afternoon, despite the heavy downpour throughout.

Norwich City operate in Division One South East and have made a hugely successful start to their campaign.

The Canaries are 2nd in their 12-team standings with 24 points from a possible 27, and three of those came away at Chatham Town last time out.

Grace Riglar gave the Norfolk-based outfit an early lead and after Chatham hit back with two goals of their own, Evie Williams' free-kick restored parity.

That allowed Natasha Snelling to win the game for Norwich in second half stoppage time, sparking scenes of celebration.

The Canaries needed more late drama to progress to this stage of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup, beating Stevenage 4-3 in the first round.

Holly Kennard’s brace was accompanied by a Williams strike that day, but it was an own goal that confirmed the result in the 96th minute.

This match will kick off at 1pm at Burnley Training Centre (BB12 8UA) on Sunday 23rd November, and a limited number of tickets remain available for supporters to purchase.

Adults are priced at £5 while under 14s are £1, and all tickets must be claimed in advance of matchday.

Those attending the fixture are advised that there will be no car parking on site at the training ground. Supporters can access a free park and ride service at Shuttleworth College (BB12 8ST) from 12pm.
