Burnley Women return to Nelson on Wednesday evening to take on AFC Fylde in the determining round of the FA Women’s National League Cup.
A victory would see Rebecca Sawiuk’s side progress to the League Cup competition, which takes prominence over the alternative known as the League Plate competition.
The Clarets have made a flying start to the 2024/25 season, winning both of their league games with an aggregate score of 12-1.
Their latest victory came against Stourbridge on Sunday, with Brenna McPartlan, Emma Siddall and Laura Elford all on target to help overcome a half-time deficit.
Fylde are currently a fourth-tier side having suffered relegation at the end of last season.
The Coasters have had a mixed start to the campaign, starting with a 2-2 draw at Barnsley in which they twice came from behind courtesy of Lois Moore and Millie Tindall.
Sunday saw them play Leeds United in their first home game of 2024/25 but they were on the wrong side of a 3-1 scoreline.
There’s a familiar face in their ranks in Hollie Kelsh-Ridge, who was released by Burnley in the summer and captained Fylde against Leeds.
Kick-off at the Daisy Communications Arena (BB7 9BN) is 7.45pm, and tickets will be available on the turnstiles at £5 for adults and £2 for juniors. Payment can be made via cash or card.
Alternatively, you can watch live on the official Burnley Football Club YouTube channel or Clarets+.
Updates will also be shared on our dedicated women’s social media channels and a match report will follow the final whistle on www.burnleyfootballclub.com.
