Due to the tragic passing of Sheffield United Women's player Maddy Cusack, Burnley FC Women's game against Newcastle United Women this Sunday has been postponed.
A FA statement confirms that both Burnley v Newcastle United Women and Nottingham Forest Women's game against Liverpool Feds, also due to take place on Sunday, will be postponed.
Maddy started her football career at Nottingham Forest and was a former teammate of a number of players involved in both fixtures. The postponement has been made to ensure all players and staff who knew Maddy have time to process this terrible loss.
The thoughts and prayers of everybody at Burnley FC are with Maddy's family, friends and Sheffield United at this time.
Rest in peace Maddy.
