Burnley FC Women are in Vitality Women’s FA Cup action this weekend, travelling to take on Cheadle Town Stingers Women in the Second Round of the competition on Sunday afternoon – 27th November – with a 1pm KO.
Jonathan Morgan’s side have picked up four consecutive wins across the last four weekends, all of which coming in different competitions and away from home.
The latest of those came at Kellamergh Park against AFC Fylde Women in the Quarter-Final of the Lancashire FA Women’s Senior Cup, with Burnley running out 4-2 victors.
Goals from Evie Priestley and Ellie York had been cancelled out come the break, and the tie looked to be heading to penalties, before Millie Ravening popped up with two late headers to send Burnley into the last four.

They will face Blackburn Community Sports Club Ladies in that competition’s semi-final, with full details of the tie still to be announced.
Focus this weekend though turns back to the FA Cup and another away trip, set up with the Claret Women’s 9-0 thumping victory against Tranmere Rovers Women in the First Round a fortnight ago.
Sarah Greenhalgh netted a hat-trick in Cheshire with Ravening netting a brace, while each of Courtney Willis, Ellie May, Aimee Kelly & Leah Embley were also on the scoresheet.
Progression again this Sunday would set up a Third Round tie on 11th December, with both Women’s Super League & Women’s Championship teams entering the competition.

But to get there, Morgan’s side must face the Stingers, who ply their trade two divisions below in the Premier Division of the North West Women’s Regional Football League alongside Tranmere.
Cheadle, managed by Dylan Wimbury, have already come through three rounds in the FA Cup including two Qualifying Rounds in which they beat both Blackpool FC Ladies & Chester-Le-Street Town Ladies.
The latter of those came via penalties, as did their victory in the First Round Proper against York City Ladies from a tier higher.

Last time out, the Stingers beat Mancunian Unity Women in the Manchester FA Women’s Challenge Cup, also by a shoot-out, to continue their defence of that trophy having won it last season.
Entry at Park Road Stadium (SK8 2AN) is priced at £2 for adults on Sunday with children able to watch for free.
