Burnley’s U21 side host Stoke City in their penultimate home game of the Premier League Cup group stage on Monday evening, 28th November, returning to the County Ground in Leyland for the first time this month (7pm KO).
The visit of the Potters brings the Clarets an opportunity to put their first win on the board in the competition this season having played three of their six group stage matches to date, once against each of the three teams in Group G – Arsenal, Swansea City & Stoke.
Once all four teams in the group have played out their six games, the top two advance to the knockout stages, consisting of 16 teams, where all ties become one-off.

Last Monday, Burnley were beaten 5-2 in South Wales by Swansea having led 2-0 at the break courtesy of Mike Mellon’s brace.
Those five unanswered second half goals from the hosts to turn things around see Burnley sat bottom of Group G with one point.
After Stoke’s visit, the Clarets two remaining fixtures in the competition’s group stage are away at Arsenal (9th December) and at home against Swansea on 20th December.
In Premier League 2 outfit Stoke, they face the team who that point came against though, earning a 1-1 draw down in the Potteries a little over a month ago.

Dara Costelloe had fired Burnley ahead from the penalty spot in that game, but ex-Claret Kevin Russell’s side levelled things up in the 94th minute via Nathan Lowe to see the points shared.
Since that game, the Potters have played just once more in the Premier League Cup when they earned another point away at Arsenal to leave them 3rd in the standings.
Subsequently, Monday’s game at the County Ground will be their third in the group stage this term with games home & away still to be played against the Swans, and a visit from Arsenal too.
