Burnley FC Women travel to Nottingham Forest Women on Sunday in the last league game of 2021.
The midlands side currently sit one place above the Clarets, who are sixth in the FA Women’s National League table. With four points between the two, a win on Sunday would see Burnley travel up the table closer to top four, heading into the new year.
Burnley faced Forest in their first home game of the 2021/22 season, back in August, with the visitors running out 4-1 winners on the day. On the back of a positive run of league results, the Clarets are hoping to keep the momentum going at the return fixture.
Both sides were in action in the Women’s FA Cup Third Round last weekend. Forest secured a place in the Fourth Round with a 2-1 win over league rivals Stoke City Women, while Burnley faced Liverpool FC Women of the women’s Championship. The reds, who currently sit top of the table having not lost a game this season, showed their prowess on the day, booking a place in the next round with a 4-0 win.
Sunday’s game will take place at Eastwood CFC, on Sunday 19th December. KO is 2pm.
