Women look forward to weekend encounter against Huddersfield Town

Sunday will see Burnley FC Women welcome Huddersfield Town Women to Lancashire FA's County Ground, Leyland.

The clarets enter the game on the back of defeat to Derby County Women, the visitors meanwhile, will be on a high following a 5-1 win at Loughborough last weekend.

The game will take place at the County Ground and with free entry for supporters, Burnley are hoping to use the occasion to bounce back following a tough start to this year's campaign, in which they currently sit ninth in the table.

"We all know the importance of the game given our recent run of results; we know that we need to put in a big performance against what is a good Huddersfield side," said women's manager Matt Bee.

"The performances over recent weeks have been full of lots of good aspects; however, we have fallen short in crucial details. That is not something we are used to here; we have always been a team that has found a way to win and get across the finish line, so the last few weeks have hurt.

"The players need to find an edge and grab the game. Desire, togetherness, relentless work are all things that are a fully embedded part of the DNA within the team, and we have to have all those things again as well as capitalise on big moments."
