Striker Wout Weghorst discusses his first Burnley appearance in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Watford, linking up with Maxwel Cornet and looks ahead to Tuesday’s game against Manchester United at Turf Moor.
Weghorst on making his Clarets debut:
"It was a great experience for me. The first time here in the stadium with the fans in the Premier League and I loved it. The most important thing missing though was the three points. We had opportunities [in the game] but it wasn’t enough.
"Of course, we were playing for a win and unfortunately, it stayed a draw."
On his link-up with Maxwel Cornet:
"I always felt that it was good. The first 20 minutes were really impressive. We were going forward directly, and we had some pressure there. There were good moments with the rest of the team too, we just have to try to continue it.
Weghorst on the differences between the Bundesliga and the Premier League:
"I knew it before but it [the Premier League] is more direct in the play. The physicality, the tempo and the intensity are higher, the levels go up and down. It was just a great experience."
Weghorst on Craig Cathcart’s challenge towards the end of the game:
"Welcome to England! The guys have already told me about it [the physicality], and I will get used to it."
On the English weather:
"To play football in, it’s good!"
On Manchester United’s visit to Turf Moor:
"It will be a big game for all of us. Every game from now until the end of the season will be a big game because we need the points. Today, we got a point and a clean sheet. It was a great performance for us, and we move onto Tuesday."
