Scott Parker admitted his frustrations following Burnley’s late defeat to Brentford on Saturday.
Two goals in the dying moments proved to be the Clarets’ undoing at the Gtech Stadium, much to Parker’s disappointment.
“We’re absolutely gutted. We fell just short again today,” he said.
“There was nothing in the game in the first half. They put us under pressure in the second half but to get ourselves back in it at 1-1, and then concede so soon after scoring is so disappointing.
“That was the biggest frustration for me. The game went away from us at that point. We gave ourselves so much to do.”
In a game of really fine margins, the Clarets once again left a Premier League fixture pondering what might have been.
“There’s elements of our game I liked again today but we need to learn from other bits of our performance that were lacking - and fix it,” he said.
“It’s a league of really fine margins - and we’re finding that out the really hard way right now.
“I knew what this journey would look like at the start of the season. We’ve got to reboot now because we’ve got another big game on Wednesday night.
“We stick together through thick and thin. That’s what this club is about.
“We’ll be judged at the end of the season. There’ll be times like this but there’ll be better days too. We’ll regroup and be ready for Wednesday.”
