Midfielder reflects on point against Rams

Josh Cullen said he was disappointed not to secure all three points against Derby County at Turf Moor on Tuesday evening but believed the team knew the areas they need to improve and were looking forward to getting back on the training pitch ahead of this weekend's trip to Norwich.

Another point on the board but did it come with a hint of frustration?

“Yes, we want to win every game. We’ve only come away with a point tonight, we’re disappointed with that. There are things we need to keep building on and working on. We know that the games come thick and fast in the Championship, so we learn our lessons from tonight, move on and look forward to another game on Sunday.”

Despite having more possession and looking lively in parts, the home side just couldn't quite find that breakthrough against a stubborn Rams side.

“I think we had some chances and it’s probably just against a team that wants to come here and be stubborn at times. You need to take one of those chances, they have to come out and the game opens up a bit.

“We had moments in the game, controlled large parts of it, had chances first half but couldn’t quite make the most of them.”

With a game against Norwich on the horizon this Sunday does it help having an extra day on the training pitch to get to work?

“Yeah, exactly that, the games come thick and fast we’ve got a big game to prepare for on Sunday now. We know which areas we need to work on, we know there’s good parts to our game as well, so we keep hold of them. Work on what we need to work on, keep improving in those areas, recover well and go again on Sunday. The Championship is a relentless league, the games come so quickly, you have to be ready to go again and that’s what we’ll be.

“Every minute we have on the training pitch is valuable for us a team. We’re still trying to develop, still trying to work on things. We have to make the most of the limited time that you get on the training pitch with the games coming so quickly. So, we’ll get back to work and work on those things and go again.”
