Head Coach Scott Parker confessed his disappointment following Tuesday night's draw with Derby County, after the Clarets dominated the clash throughout, but just couldn't find a winning goal.
Burnley created a handful of opportunities, with Josh Brownhill, Jeremy Sarmiento and Luca Koleosho all coming close, however it just wasn't to be on a frustrating night at Turf Moor.
Speaking post-match, Parker said: "We're gutted in there really, we're really disappointed. We wanted to come here, win the game and take all three points and we haven't done that.
"We fell a bit short tonight, credit to Derby though. They came here with a plan to protect the goal, interrupt the game and frustrate the crowd, which is what happened."
Parker added: "You get one goal early on and it opens the game up a bit, but the longer the game goes on, the anxiety in and around the stadium reflects on the pitch and you could sense that.
"We made some poor decisions and were a bit desperate at times and that played into their hands I thought, but it just wasn't meant to be tonight."
Despite the draw, the Clarets still remain undefeated at home all season, are currently on a seven-match unbeaten run, recorded a 13th clean sheet of the campaign this evening and have only conceded seven goals in 20 league matches.
"We did create some good opportunities and the game looks very different if we get that early goal and we came very close to doing that.
"I can't fault the teams' hard work, they worked so, so hard, and they do every single match and I can't fault that one bit.
"We've got a few days back on the training ground now to get ready for the weekend and go again at Norwich and we'll be ready."
