Burnley Football Club are pleased to confirm the exciting addition of Claudia Walker to our women’s team.
The striker brings a wealth of experience to the Clarets squad, having played in the Women’s Super League with Liverpool, Everton, West Ham United and Birmingham City.
The 28-year-old is Head Coach Rebecca Sawiuk’s first addition of the summer and has linked up with her new team-mates immediately.
Speaking after signing her contract, she said: “It’s an exciting time and I’m buzzing to be here.
“At the back end of last season, I started having conversations with the Club and when I came and had a look around, I liked it and got a good feeling.
“I knew Bex (Rebecca Sawiuk, Head Coach) and Lou (Roberts, Assistant Coach) before I came here, which helped me make my decision as I know how much they value me.
“It’s been quite easy to come into the group and everybody’s really welcoming, so with the season edging closer I’m really excited to get going.”

Having come through the youth system at Stoke City, Walker moved to Liverpool and was part of their 2014 title-winning side.
A cross-Merseyside move to Everton also proved fruitful, with the striker top scoring in the 2016 WSL 2 season and scoring a further seven goals in nine Spring Series matches.
Then came 34 top-flight appearances in two years in the Midlands before a move to London and West Ham, where she scored six Women’s Super League goals in 34 appearances.
Walker has spent the last 18 months in the Women’s Championship with Birmingham, but now links up with Burnley ahead of the 2024/25 Northern Premier Division of the Women’s National League season.
She also has international experience under her belt, having represented England at U17, U19 and U23 level in various tournaments.

“She has undeniable talent and a wealth of experience in the game and was a key target for us in the window and I’m delighted she chose to come to Burnley.
“She is a top professional with high standards, and we are all looking forward to working with her.”
Burnley’s Head of Women’s Football Lola Ogunbote added: “This is a strong start to our summer business, and I’m delighted to welcome Claudia to the Club.
“She is a proven goal scorer at various levels and I’m confident that her excellent attitude to life as a footballer will benefit her younger teammates too.”
