The Club were delighted with the number of nominations received for our International Fan of the Season competition.

It's been brilliant to hear your stories of supporting the Clarets from around the globe!

The Club has shortlisted three fans in the International category, so Clarets fans please cast your votes!

Meet the International Fan of the Season contenders....

John Patrick Rosch

"I have met John twice during my two trips to the UK. Once when we were playing in the EPL in Feb 2024 and just recently this month when we played Millwall.

"He has travelled numerous times (especially this season) from Denver, Colorado to Burnley. In fact when a bunch of Americans met up with him that weekend against Millwall this was his 13th time this season travelling over there. The amount of miles is over 4,519 miles to get there and 4,519 on the way back (that is the amount according to Google) so that is well over 9 thousand miles every trip. That means overall he did over 117,494 miles of travelling the entire EFL Championship season.

"He recently as of this year became a season ticket member and felt that was better for him since he went to so many games at the Turf itself. He sits in the Jimmy McIlroy stand 3 rows up from goal. He is usually quiet but can be vocal when needed. People around Burnley treat him as one of their own and not the "American" Claret, that many of my friends that went that weekend were called (and no shame in that at all by the way). The amount of friends he made based off his experiences on social media led him to be well loved and became sort of an ambassador to the US for Burnley Football Club.

"Those in the town respect him for coming over and cheering on the Clarets as often as he did. When he wasn't at the Turf he would be with his kids spreading the good word with them about the Club itself. Their own daughter and son both support them and I believe his daughter has come with him for the trip as well (not sure if it was this season though). So, his dedication and passion for the team and the travel and the time off that is needed to go there all the time is some of the reasons why I nominated John Rosch as International Burnley Fan of the Season.” Jorge Rodrigues

“I first came across John Patrick on Twitter, drawn in by his incredible passion for Burnley FC and the fact that, despite living in Colorado, USA, he regularly travels to watch us play.

"On a recent visit to the UK, I read that he was hoping to catch a Harrogate FC game after Burnley’s Saturday fixture was moved to the night before. Knowing I was heading to the same match, I offered him a lift and during that journey, I was amazed to hear the sheer dedication he has to our Club.

"For years, I used to make the round trip from Leicester to Turf Moor for every home game, and I remember how exhausting that could be sometimes. But John Patrick takes it to a whole other level. Each time he travels, it involves a 45-minute drive to the airport, a flight to Minneapolis, a connecting flight to Amsterdam, then another to Manchester - followed by a train to Burnley. And he’s made that journey 15 times this season alone!

"Back home in Colorado, he’s a one-man Burnley fan club - spreading the word and proudly sharing his love for the Clarets with anyone who’ll listen. Honestly, I think it’s us who should be proud to have him as a fan.

"I’d be genuinely amazed if there’s another international supporter more deserving of this award.

"JP Rosch has an amazing love for the Club founded by meeting a bunch of Clarets in a bar in London years ago, then going on an amazing journey discovering how great our Club really is. He travelled to 14 of 23 home games this season from Colorado, he truly deserves this accolade.

Daniel Statham

"Season ticket holder despite living in Prague, Czech Republic and flying over from Prague whenever possible to get to games.

“I founded Prague Clarets to help resident and visiting Clarets catch Burnley games in Prague.

"I travel over from Prague for every game I can (when TV selections don't thwart my plans), making it a whole weekend trip for the 90 minutes at the Turf.

"Renewed my Season Ticket again in the Bob Lord stand (plus 3 for my pal, his nephew and my nephew) so ready to do it all again and hopefully double my mileage next season if TV selections leave us alone to play on Saturdays!" Daniel Statham

Dang Le Quang

"My name is Dang Le Quang, born and raised in Hue, a city nestled along the poetic Perfume River, quietly situated in the heart of Central Vietnam. Hue is not as flashy as Saigon, nor as bustling as Hanoi. But Hue has depth, identity, and a unique beauty: slow-paced, humble, yet full of life.

"I think that’s exactly why I feel a deep connection with Burnley, a football club that is also not loud or bathed in dazzling lights, yet always fights with admirable resilience. Burnley doesn’t need to show off to earn recognition, just as Hue doesn’t need noise to make people fall in love.

"I still remember, when I was a child, I once stumbled upon a match between Burnley and another team in the Premier League. At the time, I was too young to truly understand football. I didn’t know the players, didn’t understand the rules, and don’t even remember the score. I just sat there, quietly watching the claret-shirted players in action. The match slowly faded into memory, like so many random things in childhood.

"Then one day, while playing a football video game, I came across Nick Pope, a goalkeeper who impressed me with his composure and reliability. Curious about Pope, I started learning more and soon discovered Burnley, the team he played for. When I later watched a video about his journey, I was struck by the realisation that this was the very team I had seen on TV years ago. The forgotten images from my childhood returned, now seen through a completely new lens.

"From a goalkeeper I liked in a game, I was gradually drawn to the spirit of the entire team. It started with Pope, but soon it was about Burnley, the familiar claret kit, the distinct Turf Moor stadium, and a playing style that feared no opponent. I was captivated by the discipline, resilience, humility, and pride, qualities that I feel resonate with myself and with the city I come from.

"Because my computer wasn’t powerful enough to run the newer FIFA games, I went back to FIFA 15 and chose Burnley as my team in Career Mode. Season after season, every championship won, every young player I nurtured, Burnley in the game gradually became a part of my real life.

"I know that in Vietnam, Burnley fans are extremely rare. Most people support the big-name clubs. But I didn’t choose a team because of its fame. I chose it because of how it made me feel, and that feeling was strong enough to keep me going for the long haul.

"In 2024, after years of following and learning about the Club, I decided to establish the Burnley FC Supporters Club in Vietnam. Though it’s just a small fan page, I hope it can be a place for connecting those who share the same love for the Club, even from halfway across the world.

"I’ve never been to Turf Moor, but my love for Burnley is real. To me, Burnley is not just a football club. It’s a memory, an inspiration, a part of my growing-up journey, and something I will always carry in my heart.” Dang Le Quang
