The Club were delighted with the number of nominations received for our Fan of the Season competition.

It's been brilliant to hear your stories of Clarets young and old supporting the squad.

The Club has shortlisted three fans in the Fan category, so Clarets fans please cast your votes!

Meet the Fan of the Season contenders....

Eileen Parker

"A stalwart supporter of the Clarets for over 77 years, Eileen Parker is the absolute fan, not just of the season. First experiencing the magic of Burnley at the tender age of 4, if you cut her in half, all you’d see is claret and blue.

"Eileen nearly succumbed to Covid four years ago. One evening whilst she was in hospital, her daughter had a call from the consultant - he was worried about Eileen’s condition and said she’d been “rambling”. Turns out she was telling him that a few weeks before lockdown she’d made the trip to watch Burnley play away at Newcastle United. He was gobsmacked and amazed when told that she wasn’t rambling and was a proud season ticket holder on the turf and also went to all the away matches.

"Before the joys of newspapers being mainly online, Eileen would buy the local papers every day. Constantly spreading the good word, she was looking for any articles on the Clarets to cut out and send to her friend in South Wales, a Cardiff Claret. Nowadays, it’s just matchday programmes getting posted to him, which she does most weeks.

"Not shy of the limelight, Eileen is often snapped at away matches and pictures of her are in the Burnley Express.

"Having just celebrated her 81st birthday and Diamond wedding anniversary, being named Fan of the Season would top them both.

"Eileen's long dedication to Burnley FC must be celebrated. There can't be many others who have followed the club for so many years and across so many miles. It's one thing to go to home matches but to travel around the country, to so many away matches, makes her a legend. Come on Eileen." Catherine West-McGrath

Oliver Everall

"I live and breathe Burnley. I've come from a very rough childhood with a lot of violence and negative examples. Turf Moor is my release from problems. Getting up on a Saturday, making the hour trip from Morecambe, enjoying the FanZone before the game and having the best time on the game. It's a feeling I can't find at anything else I do. I'm up for my GCSEs in a few weeks and the only thing that is enabling me to keep a level head is Burnley highlights of beating them lot next door.

"I don't know where I would be right now without Burnley. I'm proud to go on away games, singing Lancashire homes letting the home fans know where we're from and backing the lads for the full 90 minutes. At the time of writing, I've visited 33 of the 92, all of them though Burnley. It's my life, and I'm never ashamed to admit it. Winning this would make my year, and an enormous sense of pride. So, I hope I do get the award, or even shortlisted would be enough for me." Oliver Everall

"Oliver lives and breathes Burnley Football Club.

"He shares his passion with his peers and adults in his life. He travels the country to support the club wherever they are playing. He has recently purchased a bucket hat made from a home shirt to advertise his support further. He wears his football shirt proudly to school each day (there is no uniform at school)." Rachel Sharp

"My little brother Oli has autism and global development delay. He is a 15 year old boy who is dedicated to Burnley FC and loved the team ever since I took him on his first game at the age of 6 with his little ear defenders on. He goes to every home game and every away game by coach, bus, car or taxi, no matter how he gets there. He's a 100% Burnley fan and totally deserves the Fan of the Season competition." Lisa Oliver

Simon Astin

"Simon travels from Scotland for every home and away game. Supporting the Clarets after the devastating news that his wife Gail passed away a few years ago suddenly. Simon puts in the miles with all the midweek games and he is so deserving, he should win this award." Joe Pattiso

Simon’s voice is loud, his spirit higher,

He travels miles wearing the rubber on his tyres!
