It looked like Burnley were set to travel back to Lancashire with nothing to show for a determined performance when substitute Alex Gibson-Hammond gave Forest the lead in time added on, as his drilled shot found the bottom corner to give Forest what looked like a dramatic winner.
The young Clarets showed resolve by finding an equaliser in the 94th minute. Substitute Ethen Vaughan tested the Forest defence with a deep cross and found Anthony Glennon sliding in to force the ball home, mass celebrations followed and it gave Burnley their first away league draw of the campaign.
Both sides came into the game at the City Ground in good form, with the Midlands side, who are coached by ex-Forest and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Andy Reid, sat in fourth place in Premier League 2 Division 2, meanwhile Burnley had won successive games against Southampton and Reading.
Bobby Thomas captained a young Burnley side. Jacob Bedeau partnered Thomas at the heart of the defence with Finlay Armstrong and Anthony Glennon at full back. Sam Waller kept goal.

Mark Helm and Anthony Gomez-Mancini played in centre midfield with Ne-Jai Tucker and Owen Dodgson providing width.
The Clarets had their best attack of the first half after 23 minutes, as Owen Dodgson got away on the left and found Sam Unwin who cut inside nicely before firing over.
Forest gave Paraguayan international Braian Ojeda his debut. Five minutes before half-time, he fired in a hard, low cross that bounced around in the Burnley box before going behind off striker Lewis Salmon.
After a goalless first half, Tucker tested Forest goalkeeper Nicky Hogarth with a free-kick on 51 minutes, almost immediately the Scottish keeper made a fine save from a superb low Armstrong shot.
Waller was then called in to action after 70 minutes when he tipped over a close range effort from midfielder Oliver Hammond. Irish left-back Aaron Donnelly had provided a teasing, curling cross.
Hammond went close again seven minutes later when his low shot just crept wide of Waller’s right-hand post.
Ateef Konate went close as the game entered injury-time. His tricky run ended with the former Le Havre midfielder shooting just wide. The game then sparked into life in dramatic fashion with both sides scoring in injury-time.
First Gibson-Hammond struck for Forest from outside the area, before Glennon popped up at the back-post to turn home a 94th minute equaliser for the Clarets, from Vaughan's cross.
Michael Jackson’s side deserved their point to extend their unbeaten league run to three games.
