The U23s are back in Premier League Cup action on Tuesday evening, hosting Peterborough United at Leyland.
Michael Jackson's side kicked off their 2021/22 PL Cup campaign last Monday with an impressive 3-0 win over Sheffield United.
And the Clarets continued their fine form, with a 4-3 win over Nowich City on Friday afternoon, to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches in all competitions.
Meanwhile, this will be Peterborough's first taste of Premier League Cup action this season, who share Group D alongside the Clarets, the Blades and Everton.
Clarets suffer defeat at Select Car Leasing Stadium to Royals
United currently sit third in the Southern Professional Development League, but are winless in their las three matches, most recently suffering a 5-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
It will be the first time the two sides have met eachother at competitive U23 level, with the reverse fixture scheduled to be played on 4th January.
