Joe McGlynn’s first-half goal secured another win for the Clarets in their fifth pre-season friendly, writes Ben Olawumi.
Burnley’s side included a handful of players who also played a part in last night’s first-team friendly win Blackpool, including captain Rob Harker.
And having netted four goals already in pre-season, Harker had a big influence on the only goal of the game, setting up McGlynn to tap into the back of the net with an inch-perfect ball across the box inside the opening quarter of an hour.
National League outfit Wrexham, playing their first pre-season game under new boss Phil Parkinson, looked to counter.
But Owen Dodgson - with an excellent goalline clearance - Richard Nartey and the Clarets' trialist goalkeeper combined to prevent a Wrexham equaliser.

The impressive Dodgson then broke forward and curled an effort just wide of the far post with Rob Lainton in the Wrexham goal seemingly beaten.
The Clarets made one change at half time, defender Harry Williams replaced by Jacob Bedeau.
Midfielder Mark Helm impressed throughout the second half and evaded two challenges in the Wrexham box before having a shot at goal palmed away from danger as Burnley looked to add to their lead.
The summer recruit from Manchester United also fired a shot narrowly over the crossbar from the edge of the area following another powerful drive forwards later on in the half.
Michael Jackson’s side was in the ascendancy and were unfortunate not to double their advantage late on through substitute Ne-Jai Tucker.
Much like Helm earlier on, the midfielder drove at goal and took aim from the edge of the box but saw his shot tipped over the bar.

However, McGlynn’s early strike was enough to make it back-to-back wins as the Clarets now look forward to testing trip to Tranmere Rovers on Saturday for a behind-closed-doors game at Prenton Park.
