Burnley U21s’ penultimate fixture of 2025 sees them travel to Greater Manchester on Monday night, with Stockport County U21s the opponents in the Premier League Cup.

The young Clarets are well placed to progress from Group F with two games remaining, having taken nine points from a possible 12.

It’s been a little while since Andy Farrell’s side’s last match, when they beat Cardiff City 3-1 in this competition on Friday 28th November.

Joe Bevan continued his strong form with the opening goal that night in Leyland and after the visitors equalised, Jaydon Banel marked his first ever U21s appearance with a fine finish.

Vernon Masara ensured all three points would be staying in Lancashire after the break, and Burnley are now 2nd in the four-team table.

They conclude their Group F schedule with a trip to leaders Queens Park Rangers on Friday 20th December.

Stockport County are unable to progress to the knockout stages, having lost all four of their matches in this competition to date.

The Hatters operate a Category Three academy and were beaten 7-2 by Cardiff City in their last outing.

It was only 3-2 to the Welsh outfit at half-time, but the Bluebirds put their foot on the accelerator after the break to earn an eye-catching victory.

The Clarets came out on top when these two teams met in the reverse fixture back in October, with Charlie Veevers and Jack McEvilly’s goals earning a 2-0 lead at half-time.

Stockport hit back through Collins Nino and Ryan Maher, but a stoppage-time own goal spared Burnley’s blushes.

Monday night’s match will be played at Stalybridge Celtic’s Bowerfold Stadium (SK15 2RT), and kick-off is 7pm.

Supporters are required to purchase tickets online, with no cash turnstiles in operation on the evening. Adults are £2, with those aged 17 and under able to gain entry for £1.
