Clarets host Londoners at Leyland

Burnley U21s will aim to build on last week’s victory over Bristol City when they welcome Queens Park Rangers to Lancashire on Tuesday afternoon.

That result against the Robins was Andy Farrell’s side's first three points of the season, having fallen short by fine margins in the weeks prior.

Burnley took a 3-0 lead at Ashton Gate, with Bradley Grant scoring either side of a Rob Atkinson own goal to give the Clarets full control of the game.

Billy Phillips reduced the deficit 17 minutes from time, but it wasn’t enough to earn the Reds any kind of result.

After five games we have five Professional Development League North points and sit 5th in the 11-team table.

Queens Park Rangers have made a similar start to their South section campaign, claiming six points courtesy of two wins from their five outings to date.

Their last league outing was a disappointing 6-0 defeat to Sheffield United at MARTRADE Loftus Road, however, Paul Furlong’s side bounced back with an emphatic scoreline on Friday night.

The R’s dispatched Preston North End 7-1 in their opening Premier League Cup Group E fixture, with Harry Murphy and a trialist both hitting hat-tricks.

QPR are 8th in the 11-team South section table.

A Joe Westley hat-trick was the difference between these two teams that last time they met, which was in September 2023 at Turf Moor.

Supporters are welcome to attend the game at the County Ground, Leyland, with Burnley season ticket holders able to gain free access. Other adults are priced at £5 and concessions are £2.

Kick-off is 1pm and there is no need to purchase in advance of arriving at the venue. Free parking is also available.
