Burnley U21s are back at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon, with Charlton Athletic the visitors in the Professional Development League.
It’s a second game at the stadium in just under a month for Andy Farrell’s team, and they will be keen to replicate the result they managed against AFC Bournemouth last time out.
The Clarets were 3-1 winners on the afternoon, with Renaldo Torraj opening the scoring after just two minutes.
Tom Tweedy added a second and after their captain Max Kinsey reduced the arrears, 16-year-old Vernon Masara sealed all three points with a counter attack goal in second-half stoppage time.
Farrell has had to manage a range of injuries and suspensions of late and the team’s form has taken a slight dip as a result.
Their last outing was a lengthy trip to Ipswich Town earlier this week and the Tractor boys were 4-1 winners, with Jesse Nwabueze scoring a brace.
Burnley are 6th in the PDL North table with 35 points from 23 matches, but still have games in hand on most teams above them.
Charlton Athletic are 7th in the South section of the league, having taken 27 points from 22 matches.
They too come into this game on the back of a defeat and were beaten 4-0 by Barnsley at the Valley on Wednesday.
The Addicks are capable of scoring goals, however. Since the turn of the year they have put five past Fleetwood Town, eight past Ipswich Town and six past Millwall.
Supporters are welcome to attend on Sunday, with kick-off at 1pm.
Burnley season ticket holders can claim free entry on the turnstiles, with other adults priced at £5 and concessions at £2.
