Burnley U21s recorded a second consecutive draw at the start of their 2024/25 season, playing out an entertaining 3-3 stalemate with Ipswich Town on Sunday afternoon.
The Young Clarets showed real desire to recover from a two-goal deficit and, after falling behind for a second time, Kamarni Ryan struck his first competitive goal for the Club to earn his team a point.
There were three changes to the side that started Tuesday’s one all draw at Millwall with Lewis Forshaw coming in to keep goal, Alex Healy-Byrne returning in defence and Vernon Masara starting out wide.
After an even start to the contest the visitors took control with two goals in the space of three minutes.
First on the scoresheet was Mathaues Roberts, who was able to roll the ball into an empty net before Rio Oudnie-Morgan made it 2-0.
Burnley’s halftime team talk had the desired effect as Tommy McDermott reduced the arrears almost immediately and Masara levelled by cutting in from the left in the 49th minute and curling a shot into a corner.

However, Ipswich hit back from a set piece through Harry Barbrook.
With the score now 3-2 Burnley’s heads didn’t drop and an equaliser came just short of 20 minutes from time.
After a driving run forward, Tom Tweedy was dispossessed and the ball fell kindly for summer addition Ryan to net coolly.
Buoyed by that goal Burnley continued to push forward and enjoyed the better of the latter stages, with Masara and Charlie Veevers both smacking the bar.
A winning goal wasn’t to come, though, and the U21s now have two points from their two Professional Development League outings to date. That leaves them 4th in the 11-team North section table.
