More of the Club’s younger age group players were afforded valuable minutes as Burnley U21s recorded a 2-0 victory over Charlton Athletic on Sunday afternoon.
Tommy McDermott scored either side of halftime to earn three Professional Development League points at Turf Moor and end a run of four matches without victory.
Manager Andy Farrell made changes from the long trip to Ipswich Town earlier this week, with U16s player Brandon Pouani joining 16-year-old Vernon Masara in the front line.
Regular starters Will Hugill, Benn Ward and Tommy McDermott were also introduced to a side containing four players aged 17 or younger.
The first real action of note saw the young Clarets take the lead after 14 minutes.
Good work from Masara saw him pick out McDermott, who produced an innovative finish to find the bottom left corner with the outside of his boot.

The midfielder, who joined from Port Vale earlier this calendar year, almost scored again straight afterwards but couldn’t quite connect with a bouncing ball in the desired fashion.
Charlton came out of their shell as the first half progressed, with Ibrahim Fullah forcing a low save from Charlie Casper and later curling narrowly wide of the top left corner.
They were unable to find an equaliser, however, and Burnley doubled their lead 10 minutes after the interval.
Joe Bevan slipped a perfectly weighted ball through to McDermott who was brought down by Charlton ‘keeper Henry Molyneux and picked himself up to coolly pick out a corner from 12 yards.
Farrell introduced Basilio Socoliche and a trialist on the hour and Burnley continued to press forwards, with both of those substitutes not capitalising on presentable opportunities.

After Lewis Richardson returned form a hamstring injury sustained in January the young Clarets had two more chances to increase their advantage, but Tom Tweedy shot straight at the goalkeeper and the trialist steered narrowly wide of a post.
Burnley stay 6th in the North section of the table having increased their points tally to 38 points from 24 matches.
Supporters are welcome to watch their next fixture against Stockport County in the semi-finals of the Central League Cup. Kick-off at the Burnley Training Centre on Wednesday 17 April is 1pm.
