For the second Tuesday running, Burnley’s U21 side head to Yorkshire tomorrow afternoon – 21st March – with Sheffield United the opponents at Bramall Lane (2pm KO).
Last week, the Clarets suffered a first defeat in three in the Professional Development League as they lost out 3-0 to Barnsley at Oakwell.
Aiden Marsh’s early strike sent the Tykes in ahead at the break, with two quickfire goals added in the second half by the hosts.

Accordingly, the U21s now sit 4th in the Northern Section of the PDL with 30 points from 21 games played. Hull City in 3rd and Wigan Athletic in 2nd both have three points more having played two games more each.
Crewe Alexandra in 5th meanwhile have 26 points, though have only played 19 matches to date.
Only the top two come the end of the season will progress into the national play-offs, competing against the top two from the Southern Section.
Tuesday’s opponents Sheffield United are the runaway leaders in the Northern Section. The Blades are currently sat on 49 points from 22 games played, 16 clear of 2nd-placed Hull, and look certain to finish top.

Managed by ex-Huddersfield Town defender & Bradford City boss Michael Collins, United are unbeaten in league action since 1st November. They have won their last six in the league, including last time out at home against Barnsley on 3rd March.
Trailing at half time, Collins’ side struck twice in two second half minutes to complete a turnaround, Antwoine Hackford & Louie Marsh the scorers.
Back in October, the Blades were also victorious at the County Ground in Leyland against the Clarets.

Racing into a 3-0 lead, Marcel Lewis & Dara Costelloe then hit back for Burnley, and only a reaction stop late on from Blades goalkeeper Jordan Amissah denied the Clarets a point on home soil.
