Burnley’s U21 side make the journey to South Yorkshire on Tuesday afternoon – 14th March – when they take on Barnsley at Oakwell (1pm KO).
Attempting to maintain their late season play-off push, the Clarets head over the Pennines on the back of a 2-1 success at home against Coventry City last time out in the Professional Development League.
Some senior figures got minutes at the Burnley Training Centre against the Sky Blues, and it was Halil Dervişoğlu & Darko Churlinov who got their names on the scoresheet.

That was a second maximum points haul in the space of six days for Burnley, who also beat Hull City 3-2 in their last away outing.
The Clarets now sit 4th in the Northern Section of the PDL, level on points with both Wigan Athletic in 3rd and Hull themselves in 2nd, both of whom have played more games at this stage. Only the top two will progress into the national play-offs come the end of the campaign.
Tuesday’s opponents Barnsley meanwhile are 9th in the Northern Section and without a win in three.

The Reds lost 2-1 away at runaway leaders Sheffield United last time out, conceding twice in the space of two second half minutes to lose having led 1-0 at the break thanks to Oliver Shaw’s opener.
Managed by Tom Harban, Barnsley’s last victory however did come against play-off contenders Hull back on 7th February. Also ending in a 2-1 scoreline, Jon Russell & Luke Thomas were on the scoresheet that afternoon.

Back in November, Burnley were victorious in the pair’s reverse meeting at Turf Moor when Mike Mellon and Owen Dodgson were on the scoresheet alongside a trialist who netted late on.
This time around at Oakwell, entry will be free to all. If you can’t make it though, you can follow along with our coverage on Twitter via @ClaretsAcademy, and read our report post-match right here on burnleyfc.com.
