On Saturday afternoon, Burnley U18s will take on Sheffield United at the Sheffield United Football Academy in the Professional Development League.

Following a 2-1 defeat to Oxford United in the Professional Development League Cup at the Burnley Training Centre on Tuesday, Tony Philliskirk's squad is eager to return to the pitch.

In their last league encounter the Clarets secured a 3-2 victory over Crewe Alexandra, with three different goalscorers. Oli Pimlott kicked off the scoring with a curled corner effort, followed by Ben Jordison, and finally Callum West to seal the three points.

With this result, Burnley currently hold fifth position, while Sheffield United sit just behind in sixth.

The Blades come into the match fresh off a 1-0 victory against rivals Sheffield Wednesday at the Middlewood Training Ground, with striker Billy Blacker securing the winning goal.

In the previous league meeting between the two sides back in November, both teams shared the points in a 1-1 draw at the Burnley Training Centre.

Goals from both sides came from penalties, with Lucas Wane finding the back of the net in the 76th minute as he was awarded the opportunity when Mekhi Haughton-Parris made heavy contact on him. Francis Marshall found the equaliser through Pimlott bringing him down in the area, and his low effort found the middle of the goal.
