Burnley U18s welcome Hull City to their Padiham base in the Professional Development league on Saturday (12:30pm KO).
The Clarets are aiming to bounce back from a disappointing 2-1 defeat away at Barnsley last week, in which Jonathan Bland opened the scoring for the home side within two minutes.
The Tykes' second goal came two minutes after the halftime break through Vimal Yoganathan, who looped a header beyond the reach of Clarets goalkeeper Jon Vilar Robinson.
Substitute Adam Abbas scored as the game entered its final stages but it wasn't enough to prevent defeat, which ended the team's four-game PDL unbeaten run.
Tony Philliskirk's team now sit 5th in the table with 28 points from their 20 matches, having earned seven wins and seven draws to date.
Young Clarets head to the capital
This weekend's opponents are two points and a place better off and come into the fixture on the back of a 2-0 victory against Crewe Alexandra last time out.
They are unbeaten in their last three league games and, led by Chad Gribble, they have recorded nine wins and three draws since the start of the season.
This will be the first meeting between these two sides this campaign.
Supporters are welcome to attend this and any other Academy fixture at the Burnley Training Centre for free. If you can’t make it, you can follow live updates on X @ClaretsAcademy and read a match report after the final whistle on www.burnleyfc.com.
