Winger Lucas Wane opened the scoring from a penalty, as Mekhi Haughton-Parris made heavy contact within the box. Wane fired the ball straight down the middle of the goal leaving Ryan Andrews no chance.
Blades' Francis Marshall found the equaliser in the 88th minute as Olly Pimlott committed a foul in the box, which resulted in Marshall finding the back of the net from the spot.
The Clarets' squad for the fixture included three U16 players in the starting eleven and an additional three named on the bench.
Saturday opponents currently sit top of the table in the Professional Development League North, having secured eight wins, one loss and three draws, with Burnley placed in 6th position.
The last time the two teams faced each other, the Blues came out on top with a 3-0 home victory at the Wast Hills Training Ground during league action.
Bria Bateman opened the scoring, with Taylor Dodd bagging the second goal closely after. The third came when Jack Rogers deflected the ball into the back of the net after an attempt to header away the shot taken from Dodd.
