Burnley U18s suffered a 3-0 defeat against Birmingham City at Wast Hills Training Ground in the Professional Development League.
Despite the Clarets being on the front foot in the opening ten minutes with opportunities from Lucas Wane and Callum West, the opening goal was netted by Bria Bateman for the hosts.
Moments before the half time whistle, Blues captain Taylor Dodd bagged the second goal for his side as he put the ball past Jon Ander Vilar Robinson.
Birmingham found their third when Jack Rogers attempted to head away a shot from Ben Wodskou but deflected the ball past his own ‘keeper.
Tony Philliskirk made one change to the side that drew against Wigan Athletic last weekend, as Adam McCoy replaced Ben Jordison in defence.

First Half
During the opening minutes, the Clarets were dominating possession, with West attempting to create opportunities for winger Wane, but multiple crosses into the box were dealt with by Blues ‘keeper Ollie Sayer.
Birmingham then netted through Bateman, as he beat Noah Adekoya before chipping the ball over Vilar Robinson to open the scoring.
As the Clarets pushed for an instant leveller, Vernon Masara found Callum West in the box, who hammered the ball towards goal, but Sayer dealt with it well.
Rogers had a chance to equalise soon after when Wane played the ball across goal, but it just evaded the reach of the midfielder at the back post.
Just before the break, the hosts made it two as Dodd raced into the box and struck the ball into the bottom corner past Vilar Robinson.

Second Half
A brilliant block from Adekoya denied Alvaro Ruiz Rente the Blues third goal with their first opportunity of the second half as the home side continued to ramp up the pressure on the Clarets.
Birmingham would find their third on 68 minutes, moments after Clarets defender Ollie Sweeney saw red, as Wodskou linked up with Bateman and he crossed the ball into the area, where Rogers, in an attempt to head the ball out of play, nodded past his own ‘keeper and into the back of the net.
The final chance of the game came just before the final whistle when Dodd gained possession and struck towards goal, but Vilar-Robinson was on hand to deny him, as Burnley fell to defeat.
The U18s are back in action next Saturday when they travel to face Crewe Alexandra in the PDL Cup at Crewe Academy Training Ground (11am KO).
