Scott Twine netted his second goal of the Clarets Championship campaign on Tuesday night, in a 2-2 draw against Rotherham United.
Reflecting on the point after the game, the forward was pleased to see his volley hit the back of the net but was disappointed the visitors couldn't take home the three points on the road.
“I think it’s a tough place to come. We’re frustrated in there, but I think it doesn’t change anything for Saturday, if we win, we win the league, so we’ll focus on that. We’ll look at the game back and analyse it in the next few days and then hopefully put it right on Saturday.”
On scoring to put the Clarets ahead he added: “Yeah, I just thought why not hit the volley, so it was nice when that went in. I possibly could have had one or two others as well; it is what it is, but I was happy to score that goal."
It's the third league start for the 23-year-old who is enjoying being able to show what he can do.
“Yes, I think I’ve said numerous times this season, this team is really tough to get in. It’s such a good squad, I think everyone knows that. To play and start two games on the bounce I’m really happy with that. Scored today, maybe I should have had one or two more, but I just want to play as much as possible, that’s how I’ve always been.”
Tonight's draw follows a goalless draw against Reading last weekend and Twine and the team plan to take the lessons from both fixtures into Saturday's home game against QPR.
“I think we’ll learn from this game by analysing it back, haven’t watched the goals back, haven’t watched the play back yet. I’m sure the gaffer will cut that up for us and show us what we need to work on, what we did well because there was lots of stuff we did well in this game. I think we’ll be confident going into Saturday, we’re really good at home so hopefully we can carry that on and if we win then that’s perfect for us.
Back in front of the home fans at the weekend, Twine's hoping it's a special day for everyone.
“Exactly, that’s what I’m hoping for [a special day]. Hopefully we get the win, have the performance as well and hopefully it’s a good day but we’ll work hard before then.”
