Last season's EFL League One Player of the Season Scott Twine, became Vincent Kompany's first signing of the summer on Sunday, ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
In the 22-year-old's first interview as a Burnley Player, he discussed the role that the new manager played in the move, why he chose the Clarets and what the Turf Moor fanbase can expect from him.
Twine on getting the deal done and over the line:
“I’m buzzing. Some tough decisions have been made, but I’ve definitely made the right choice.
“I’ve got a huge smile on my face. I’m over the moon to be here and I can’t wait to get going now.”
Twine on why he chose Burnley Football Club:
“I spoke to the gaffer (Vincent Kompany), and I had look at the facilities. I spoke to numerous people involved and they all advised me this would be a good move.
“I thought that too and it just feels like the right place for me, so that’s the main thing.”

Twine on what Clarets fans can expect from him:
“I would say I’m a risk taker, I like to create chances and make things happen. So, as well as scoring goals and assisting my teammates, I’ll be looking to bring them attributes with me too.”
Twine on manager Vincent Kompany playing a part in the move:
“It was a massive, he’s one of the best players to ever play in the Premier League, if not one of the best players ever.
“I spoke to him and his plans are exciting. It was a no brainer for me to sign.”
Twine on the Clarets’ training ground:
“For this to be my new home and base, the facilities are amazing. I am looking forward to working here every day.”

Twine on learning from experienced forwards at the Club:
“I like learning from people, last season I learnt a bit from experienced players at MK Dons.
“I’ll be looking to do that here now with great players such as Jay Rodriguez and Ashley Barnes for example, who have so much experience and talent.”
Twine on the prospect of making his debut live on Sky Sports on the opening day of the EFL season:
“I will try my hardest in pre-season and hopefully get in the squad for that first game of the season.
“It would be a great occasion to make my debut that night, but the hard work starts now.”
