Burnley Football Club are delighted to confirm the additions of Charley Docherty, Emma Siddall and Naoisha McAloon to our women’s team squad!
Docherty progressed through the ranks at Championship side Sheffield United, making her senior debut in January 2021 and signing her first professional deal that summer.
The 21-year-old is a defender and will bring versatility to the squad.
Right-back Siddall will be a familiar face to Clarets fans, having been part of the squad in the second half of last season on a dual registration basis from Manchester City.
The 18-year-old featured in all 10 league games during her time with the Club, with just one of those appearances coming off the bench.
Born in Dublin, McAloon is a goalkeeper who has been with Championship side Durham since 2022.
The 25-year-old, who has been capped by the Republic of Ireland at U19 level, will work alongside Kirstie Levell and Lucy Farrell with Goalkeeping Coach Jordan Booth.
On these three additions to her squad, Head Coach Rebecca Sawiuk said: “Chaz (Charley Docherty) has settled in really quickly and is a top person with a professional attitude.
“She plays with real heart and is quick and direct with her forward play, in addition to being aggressive out of possession.
“Sids (Emma Siddall) came in last season from Manchester City and impressed from day one. In my opinion she is one of the best young all-round players in the game right now and I’m delighted to have her in this team.
“She’s got quality with and without the ball and plays the game with such intelligence.
"Neesh (Naoisha McAloon) is a top person with a real positive energy. She’s excellent with her distribution which suits our style of play, and she’s brave and commanding in goal.
“She comes into the group here with good experience and high standards which is exactly what we need, and I know our Goalkeeping Coach Jordan is looking forward to working with her.”
