The Clarets will face Premier League rivals Newcastle United in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
Burnley were handed an away tie at St James’ Park in Wednesday night's draw, with the two clubs set to meet in the competition for the first time.
The tie will be played in the week beginning Monday 23rd August, with further details to follow.
The two clubs don't face each other in the Premier League until a repeat trip to Tyneside for the Clarets in early December.
But they did play a behind-closed-doors friendly at Turf Moor last week with Burnley coming out 1-0 winners thanks to a Jay Rodriguez goal.
