First home game of the new season will be played on 22nd August
The 2021/22 season will see Burnley FC Women play at a new home ground, Accrington Stanley FC.
The team, who compete in the third tier of women’s football, will move to the ground for the start of the new league campaign and will welcome Nottingham Forest Women for the first home game on Sunday 22nd August.
Burnley FC Chairman, Alan Pace said: “We are pleased to announce the news of Burnley FC Women’s new home ground, it’s great to be working with Accrington Stanley.
“Since taking over operations of the women’s team in February this year, we outlined the intention to professionalise the women’s operations, in a bid to boost women’s football. It is part of our long-term strategy to increase the team’s presence, infrastructure, and investment, with the news of our new home ground signifying this commitment.
“It’s an exciting time for women’s football at the club, in addition to this news we were delighted to partner with TikTok to live stream Burnley FC Women's home games at Accrington, to bring women's football live to more people.
"Following a busy summer, we are all looking forward to the women's league starting and to calling the Wham stadium home.”
Since June 2018, the claret women have played their home fixtures at Padiham FC’s Arbories Memorial Sports Ground and the club wish to place on record they're thanks to Padiham and the team there for their support.
The 2021/22 season of the FA Women’s National League starts on the 15th of August with Burnley FC Women kickstarting their season away to Sheffield FC Women, before welcoming Nottingham Forest Women to the Wham stadium on the 22nd August.
