Winger Anass Zaroury is away on World Cup duty with Morocco and is unavailable for Burnley’s first home game for five weeks. Morocco face Croatia in the 3rd/4th place final at 3pm on Saturday.

Darko Churlinov and Scott Twine returned to first team action last Sunday, both were substitutes in the 3-0 win over Queens Park Rangers.

Midfielder Josh Brownhill is set to make his 100th league appearance for the Clarets. He joined Burnley from Bristol City in January 2020 and turns 27 on Monday.

MIDDLESBROUGH

Michael Carrick was appointed Head Coach at the Riverside in October. The five-time Premier League winner played over 450 games for Manchester United.

Former Blackpool defender Marc Bola is set to miss the game with a knee problem.

Ex-Ipswich Town centre back Matt Clarke remains absent with a back injury.

Defender Darnell Fisher, who joined Middlesbrough from Preston North End, is a long-term absentee with a knee injury.

Matt Crooks came off the bench to score the late winner against Luton Town last week. The former Accrington Stanley midfielder, who turns 29 next month, will be pushing for a starting berth.
