Striker previews fourth round tie with the Stags

The Clarets are back in Emirates FA Cup action on Saturday and Burnley's third round Player-of-the-Match Ashley Barnes is eager to get back out there and play a part once again this weekend.

Barnes bagged a brace in the last round against Millwall at Turf Moor and if selected, the striker is keen to find the net once again and help the Clarets book their place in the fifth round of the competition.

Ahead of taking on Mansfield Town, Barnes spoke to the media, where he reflected on Wednesday night; the upcoming clash with the Stags; and the role he plays around the dressing room.

TURNING THE CORNER

"It was a really nice feeling after the other night, putting that smile back on faces of the fans, the staff, the gaffer and the team, it was nice.

"It's been a tough season, we all know that, but on Wednesday we put an end to that run and hopefully that result and performance has shown everyone what we can do and hopefully it can be the turning point for these last 12 games."

UP FOR THE CUP

"This is another competition for us to compete in, breed that confidence and our full aim is to get into the next round tomorrow.

"It's a game we're not taking lightly, they are in this round for a reason and they have shown that and we're going to have a tough job on our hands.

"In any game you compete in, you need to be professional and that goes for tomorrow, like we did against Millwall and we're ready for this one now and have our plan of how we can progress into the fifth round."

LAST TIME OUT IN THE CUP

"I loved it. Every time I pull on the shirt it's an honour and then to start and score two was an amazing feeling and the feeling of scoring for this Club never gets old.

"The only complaint was that I didn't get my hat-trick, but hopefully if I play tomorrow, I can try get another goal or three and help us into the next round."

PLAYING A PIVOTAL ROLE OFF THE PITCH

"Of course it's never nice not playing week-in-week-out, but I would like to think I am playing a key role around the dressing room and at the training ground, being there for the younger lads and anyone that needs it.

"There's a few of us older ones that try help around the dressing room. You can't hide away when things are going tough, I have plenty of experience and I enjoy giving as much advice and help to the team when they need it."
